This is another painting I did near the river. My colleague at the residency, who was born and raised in Munich, Germany, was drawn to the city, whereas I, having grown up among the trees, rivers, and mountains in Oregon, found myself gravitating to the outskirts. It wasn't until after the first two weeks of the residency, when we laid out all our paintings, that this difference became so clear.
